If you prefer to leave the Pousada, you can take the
cable car and go up to the Penha for a must-see scenic journey. You'll also find numerous activities to keep you busy and active on this quiet holiday:
horse or
jeep rides , ultralight planes, or pedestrian walks - a good way to explore the mountains of Santa Catarina and Monte da Penha. You can also play
golf ,
paintball or visit the
shooting range to practice your aim.
With an area of about

park of the Pousada Mosteiro Guimarães with its origin in the enclosure of the Augustinian Monastery, founded in the twelfth century, encompasses
architectural and landscape elements within a dense and diverse vegetation cover, classified as being of public interest. Established on a hillside of Penha Mountain which shows a sharp contrast between urbanized and vegetated areas, the park of the Pousada de Santa Marinha remains as a distinctive place, thus deserving to be visited and protected.
