The straight and pure lines of Siza Vieira’s furnishings perfectly match the austere layout and meditative atmosphere of this former Ordem de Cister Monastery, renovated through a project by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura. The windows open over the green of the mountains, letting in the fresh air of Peneda Gerês National Park.

The Pousada’s 32 rooms are a result of the conversion of the Monks’ old cells. Dismissing what is superfluous, the exquisite luxury of the large and comfortable beds excels, as do the exquisite materials such as the wood and the stone, and the facilities, LCD TV and free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, safe and minibar. The Pousada offers Large Family rooms with capacity for up to 4 people.
