The Pousada Caniçada, Gerês has a swimming pool which is very peaceful and quiet, where you can relax a little with the newspaper after breakfasting in a setting with some of the best views in the world. Ideally, breakfast will be out on the esplanade, with only the twittering of birds and the wind rustling through the trees for company. Walk down to the bell tower and take a stroll between the orange groves and holly bushes until you get to a fantastic lake with a unique view.
