Pousada Palácio de Queluz
Historic Hotel
With its iconic harmony between scenery and architecture, the Queluz Palace was the royal residence in the 18th and 19th centuries. It houses a large Equestrian Art Library, and has won international awards for the restoration of its botanical gardens.
The old kitchens of the Queluz Palace were transformed into one of the most legendary restaurants in Portugal. Its large table holds an enviable collection of sweets. Before tasting them, enjoy the elegant and regal decoration, the view of the garden and traditional Portuguese cuisine.
Mystery dinners are ideal for a different, fun and unforgettable night. We organise them for groups of more than 10 people, usually for corporate events, birthday dinners, Christmas dinners, stag and hen parties, etc. They are intellectually stimulating and very entertaining, as each participant acts both as the detective and one of the crime suspects. Please note that guests who wear reading glasses are required to remove them.
The mystery dinner takes place on 31 October 1755 (the day before the great Lisbon earthquake) at Casa dos Távoras, when news arrives that Mr Luís da Cunha, the royal secretary, has been murdered. The whole dinner revolves around trying to uncover the identity of the criminal. Minimum number of participants: 12 Maximum number of participants: 32
At the height of World War II, Dr. Eça Morais is making the most of the cosmopolitan city of Lisbon to hold lively and interesting meetings at its Literary Club. But, at one of these meetings, terrible news comes of a murder. Everyone is a suspect, only one is the murderer. Minimum number of participants: 10 Maximum number of participants: 30

We bring you a performance starring a trio of Wise Men who have completely lost their original purpose. It features audience interaction that turns into an improvisation based on the reactions, characteristics and attributes of their guests. All the ingredients come together for a humorous performance in a series of contemporary commentaries but full of “ticks” related to the period and the event. Tradition only goes as far as the clothing.
The themed evening entitled “Marquês por uma noite” is intended to recreate a fun eighteenth-century atmosphere with an actor playing the role of the Marquis in an interactive performance with the participants contributing to the outcome. The entertainment continues throughout the dinner. His arrival is announced in the proper regal manner before a full room of assembled guests. All the ingredients are there for a meal in the company of the Marquis who, delighted with the characteristics and attributes of his guests, makes comments in a series of sketches with a Baroque décor.
The themed evening entitled “À Mesa com Eça” is intended to recreate a typical late- nineteenth-century dinner with the writer Eça de Queirós and his friend and accomplice Ramalho Ortigão. A fairly scathing Eça and slightly more moderate Ramalho perform a series of realistic sketches about what is served on the plate and what the country “serves”. The entertainment continues throughout the dinner, with the two actors performing between the various courses.
